Microblading can last anywhere from 18 to 30+ months. In general, it requires touch-ups once or twice a year depending on your lifestyle, skin type, and retention. Once pigment from the procedure begins to noticeably fade, you'll need to come back for a touch-up. Microblading might fade faster on oily skin individuals.

2 WEEKS BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT:
BOTOX: If you regularly get Botox/Dysport, it must be done at least 14 days prior to your appointment. If you’ve had it done within 14 days of your appointment we will need to reschedule.
WAXING/THREADING: We recommend coming to your appointment with your brows grown out to see how they grow naturally; we will clean them up for you. If you decide to clean them up before, please do so at least 1-2 weeks prior to your appointment. If you tint your brows, please do so at least 7 days prior.
RETIN-A: Please refrain from using any retin-a/retinol/exfoliation products on your face for 2 weeks leading up to your appointment and after.
FACIALS/PEELS/LASER: Do not have any harsh facial treatments done within 2 weeks before and after your appointment.
24 HOURS-72 HOURS BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT:
ALCOHOL: Please avoid any alcohol.
CAFFEINE: Avoid it! We know it’s hard to do.
MEDICATIONS: Avoid blood thinning medications 72 hours before your appointment. Consult with your doctor if needed. Common blood thinner medications to avoid are Aspirin, Eliquis, Warfarin, Xarelto, Dabigatran, Heparin, Lovenox, Clopidogrel, Dipyridamole, and others. Common blood thinner supplements to avoid are Ginger, Ginseng, Turmeric, Vitamin E, Garlic, Aloe, Fish oil, Chamomile, and others.
*If any of above are ingested, you will bleed a lot during your appointment making it harder for me to give you your ideal brows. Excessive bleedings increases the risk of infection, skin not holding pigment, and room for error. If you ingest of any of these prior to your appointment, please let me know!
DIRECTIONS: Please be sure to map directions to our studio. We have a strict 15-minute late policy, so please plan ahead to make sure you know how long the commute to the studio takes, and plan for traffic if appropriate. Please be respectful of our time the same as we are respectful of yours and let me know if you’ll be late!
DAY OF YOUR APPOINTMENT:
SHOWER: I recommend washing your hair the night before or morning of your appointment. This will give you a head start in the healing process so you won’t have to wash your hair right after you get your brows done. You will need to avoid direct water contact on brows for 7-10 days including no sweating, pools, lakes, sauna’s/steam rooms, salt water, and extreme sun exposure, so plan your vacations accordingly.
EXERCISE: Avoid exercise right before coming to your appointment, exercising increases blood flow and will cause excessive bleeding, leading to poor healed results.
MAKEUP: Please come with your brow makeup on! This helps me to see your regular and preferred shape and color. Please note that we also take before and after photos during your appointment.

Redness and tightness around the treated area are normal and should subside within 24 hours. After your appointment, the pigment will oxidize, making your brows appear darker—and sometimes slightly redder—than their initial look. This is completely normal.
Around days 3–4, the treated area may begin to scab and flake, which is a natural part of the healing process. Avoid picking, scratching, or rubbing, as this can cause scarring or pigment loss. During this phase, your brows may look patchy until the healing process is complete.
By around day 10, once the flaking has stopped, your brows will appear lighter. Over the next 4–6 weeks, the pigment will settle, revealing the final healed color.
If any areas experience pigment loss, we can address it during your follow-up appointment.
-
A 6 week touch up appointment is necessary because some strokes may fade during the healing process, which is normal! Most clients also like to add more strokes to their brows and go bolder.
-
Most people experience little to no pain during the procedure. Although each person has a different level of pain tolerance, I use two types of effective topical anesthetics throughout to make sure you’re as comfortable as possible. Please note, if you are on your menstrual cycle or ovulating day of appointment, you might be a bit more sensitive to microblading.
-
The chosen pigment is based on your natural brow hair color, undertones, and can easily be altered to an appropriate shade. I use pigment that is designed for microblading from a credited brand. If you tint your eyebrows, come in with tinted brows. Be expected to tint your brows while you have your microbladed brows so the colors match.
-
The skin is not considered to be completely healed until after 30 days of a full cycle of skin regeneration, but your procedure areas will appear and feel normal within 15-20 days.
-
A tattoo, is a dark permanent ink deposited into the dermis, which is the second layer of the skin. This means the tattoo is permanent. Tattoo artist use a machine to perform this procedure; Microblading, on the other hand is a manual technique thank deposits a semi-permanant color into the top layer of the skin, the epidermis. This semi-permanent procedure only lasts 2-5 years. The durations depends on your skin type and how your skin holds the pigment as well as lifestyle.
-
This depends on each client. We will map your brows using your facial features and natural brow to figure out the best shape for your face. If you want to extend the tail, we can extend the tail. If you want a dominant arch, we will give you a dominate arch. I will recommend some do’s and don’ts when it comes to your perfect brow shape- it’s different for everyone! We don’t continue with the process until you're satisfied with your shape.

If you have oily skin, you can still get microblading done but the lines might blur out a bit more due to your oil production. This may cause strokes to fade quicker. Oily skin types need to pay extra attention to the aftercare instructions.
-
No! I’m going to map and shape your eyebrows to give you the best shape for your face. The more hair the better.
-
I do not recommend getting microblading done if you are pregnant. If you are breastfeeding- this is up to you! I recommend waiting 2 weeks post-breastfeeding or consult with your pediatrician.
-
If you have previous brow work, they must be at least 75% faded or have undergone tattoo removal. For the most natural-looking results, we need to start with a clean slate. During your consultation, I’ll assess your brows and help determine the best plan for you. I recommend Removery for tattoo removal.

Yes! I’ll send you home with a healing kit that you must follow for 7-10 days. Your kit will contain brow soap and brow lotion.

My name is Hannah, and I’m the founder and owner of Well Brow. After 12 years of filling in my eyebrows and never being satisfied with the shape or color, I knew there had to be an easier option. When I discovered microblading, it completely transformed my confidence and daily routine. That experience inspired me to help others achieve effortless, natural-looking brows that enhance their beauty every day. With a background in Studio Arts from UC Santa Cruz, I always knew I’d pursue a creative career. In 2021, I immersed myself in the world of permanent makeup, earning my microblading certification from Seduire Academy in early 2022. That same year, I built Well Brow from the ground up and now proudly rent a chair in San Clemente. I look forward to meeting you!

Wake up with perfect and effortless brows.
Microblading eliminated the guesswork and time spent filling in my brows every day…
and I know it’ll do the same for you!
